Dżem at Eter club: a blues-rock selection of the band’s repertoire with Maciej Balcar
Dżem combines blues roots with rock expression and touches of reggae. The announcement of the Eter club show presents a career-spanning programme with Maciej Balcar, from the story of “Paw” and “Whisky” to songs from later stages of the band’s discography.

wROCKfest.pl is delighted to invite you to a club concert by a Polish blues legend. On 15 December at the Eter club, DŻEM will give a full concert spanning their entire career.
Dżem need little introduction to blues and rock fans in Poland. They made their debut in the early eighties. Their first hits, “Paw” and “Whisky”, and superb, dynamic concerts brought them popularity. The band presented rock music firmly rooted in blues, with certain reggae elements. What made them exceptional, however, was singer Ryszard Riedel’s charismatic stage presence, lyrics, voice and hippie image. This was when Dżem won widespread acclaim and popularity among a relatively broad rock audience. Their finest records undoubtedly include “Cegła”, “Absolutely Live”, “Detox”, “Wehikuł czasu” and “Akustycznie”, recorded in spring 1994, a few months before Riedel’s death.
Today, with Maciej Balcar singing, the group recalls its finest achievements of earlier years. It has, after all, always been an excellent live act.
