Dr Misio and Arek Jakubik at Stary Klasztor: rock with a powerful message in Wrocław

Dr Misio will play at Stary Klasztor!

Dr Misio are an all-male crew led by Arkadiusz Jakubik, one of Poland’s most recognisable actors, a screenwriter and director associated with ambitious film projects on the country’s cultural map. He is known for outstanding dramatic roles in Wojtek Smarzowski’s films, including “Wesele”, “Dom zły”, “Drogówka” and “Wołyń”. Dr Misio play fierce rock ’n’ roll. Their solid sound, heavy riffs, excellent, thoughtful lyrics by Krzysztof Warga and Marcin Świetlicki, and refusal to compromise musically make them a fresh and original proposition. They appeal not only to rock fans but above all to people seeking intellectual stimulation and reflection in art, open to its form and happy to join in an almost ritualistic shared celebration.

The band have two albums to their name, “Młodzi” and “Pogo”, produced by Olaf Deriglasoff, a familiar figure in rock circles. Their most characteristic tracks include “Mentolowe papierosy”, “Dziewczyny”, “Młodzi”, “Hipster” and “Pogo”. They have played countless concerts throughout Poland, from tiny clubs to major outdoor events and festivals such as Jarocin and Woodstock. Their third album, “Zmartwychwstaniemy”, appeared in spring 2017, produced by Kuba Galiński, known for work with artists such as HEY, Ania Dąbrowska and Ania Rusowicz. It is promoted by “Pismo”, whose video was directed by Wojtek Smarzowski.
