Dario Pinelli and Binario Swing: a first Polish concert with gypsy jazz and Italian swing

Dario Pinelli and Binario Swing revisit 1940s Italian swing and Django Reinhardt’s guitar tradition. The preview of their first Polish concert at Stary Klasztor introduced a meeting of gypsy jazz, musette waltz and melodies from post-war Italy.

Lovers of the unforgettable Django Reinhardt's talent and classic 1940s swing are invited to the first Polish concert by Italian gypsy-jazz guitar virtuoso Dario Pinelli and his band Binario Swing.

The concert will take place in the atmospheric Gothic interiors of the recently opened Stary Klasztor music club at ul. Purkyniego 1. It will increasingly host Muzyka Świata w Starym Klasztorze, an Ethno Jazz Festival series presenting outstanding representatives of musical cultures from around the world.

Dario Pinelli & Binario Swing are three world-renowned musicians playing “jazz manouche”: Dario Pinelli on lead guitar, Walter Clerici on vocals and rhythm guitar, and Renato Gattone on double bass. What unites them? All three are Italian and considered virtuosos of their instruments.

Dario Pinelli is considered one of the finest — and, moreover, youngest — lead guitarists playing gypsy jazz. A star of countless international festivals, he performs as part of The Godfathers trio or in a quartet with Angelo Debarre. He has now expanded his circle of collaborators to include the exceptionally talented Walter Clerici of Hot Club of Copenhagen, one of the few Italian swing singers.

Renato Gattone completes the trio: a double bassist and television personality who has performed with leading Italian swing musicians such as Romano Mussolini and Renzo Arbore.

Dario Pinelli & Binario Swing present an exceptionally wide-ranging and original repertoire, spanning Django Reinhardt classics, French valse musette and post-war Italian swing of the 1940s.
