Leski at City Sounds: indie pop, folk and analogue synthesisers at Stary Klasztor
Leski, the project of Paweł Leszoski, combines indie pop, folk influences and analogue synthesisers with intimate lyrics. The announced City Sounds concert at Stary Klasztor was connected with his debut album “Sploty”.

City Sounds invites you to hear a promising talent from Poland’s indie-pop scene. LESKI will perform at the Stary Klasztor music club on 21 October, promoting his debut album, “Sploty”.
Leski is the stage name of Paweł Leszoski, a new singer-songwriter on Poland’s alternative scene. Mantra-like melodies, magnetic vocals and intimate lyrics place his music alongside the work of Ben Howard and Jose Gonzales. Leski plays with contrasts, mixing the contemporary sounds of analogue synthesisers with traditional folk instrumentation. He wraps it all in beautiful lyrics that have led many reviewers to place him alongside artists such as Skubas and Fisz.
Leski’s debut album, “Splot”, appeared on 1 June 2015 under the patronage of Polish Radio Three, Empik, CoJestGrane and MaleMen. Released by Warner Music Poland, it was very well received by music journalists. The video for its first single, “Kosmonauta”, was directed by Zuza Krajewska, known for videos for Mela Koteluk and Kari, and the song reached number 42 on Polish Radio Three’s chart. The album is currently promoted by the second single, “Ulotny”, also charting on LP3. Its video was made by Jędrzej Guzik, creator of the “Splot” cover and Fismoll’s latest video for “Eager Boy”.
Leski has been involved in music for years, but only recently decided to release his first entirely original album. He became known to wider audiences in April 2014, independently releasing the “Zaczyn” EP. It whetted indie-folk fans’ and music journalists’ appetite for a full-length record. Its songs appealed to presenters and listeners on Polish Radio Three and other local stations. They have tens of thousands of YouTube views and charted on many stations, while one, “Było”, appeared on the soundtrack of the television series “Prawo Agaty”.
Edyta Bartosiewicz herself recognised Leski’s talent and invited him to support the entire autumn “Love&More” tour. His participation received extensive media attention, and he gained hundreds of fans across Poland. In the end-of-2014 round-ups by outlets including Uwolnijmuzyke.pl, Musicis.pl and Somusic.pl, “Zaczyn” was listed among the best EPs, while Leski was named an artist set to make a considerable impact on Poland’s alternative music scene in 2015.
