Endy Yden and Notopop at City Sounds: new Polish sounds and a meeting of young performers

His music is infectious in its energy and in the freedom with which ENDY YDEN navigates the twists and turns of sounds and styles. Who is he? Does it matter? Perhaps he is a composer or a producer. Perhaps he once played in a band or appeared on a television show. Perhaps all of that is true, or perhaps none of it is. Why speculate when just two songs are enough to give so many listeners goosebumps? ENDY is not hiding behind a mask: he reveals his true face through his music.

notopop

notopop are an electropop trio formed and based in Wrocław. The band plan to release their debut EP and a music video in 2015. Their members are Kasia Gruszka (vocals), Paweł Major (production/keyboards/guitar) and Mateusz Musiał (keyboards/bass). Their sound is characterised by hypnotic vocals and powerful bass, filled out with a wealth of electronic melodies. notopop draw inspiration from a range of genres and do not limit themselves to the new. They draw freely on great Britpop and American sixties classics.

It must be said that the band do not take the easy route, resort to cheap tricks or blindly follow musical trends. Their sound results from extensive musical knowledge and a talent for creating light, catchy choruses combined with electronic sounds. notopop offer warm vocals carried by melodies you want to hum. Few bands find it so easy to write simply good songs that stay in your head long after the first listen.
