Al Di Meola with “Opus”: guitar virtuosity at Impart for Ethno Jazz Festival
Al Di Meola, one of the greatest guitarists of all time, comes to Wrocław at Ethno Jazz Festival's invitation to promote his latest album. We will hear new material from “Opus” live on 4 November at Impart's theatre hall, ul. Mazowiecka 17.

Al Di Meola is an American guitarist regarded as a pioneer of jazz, rock and world music. Fascination with complex rhythmic synchronisation, provocative lyrical melody and sophisticated harmony lies at the heart of his music. He has developed these interests for more than four decades.
The GRAMMY winner achieved worldwide fame as a solo musician while also playing with stars such as Frank Zappa, Jimmy Page, Stevie Wonder, Chick Corea, Paco De Lucia, John McLaughlin, Jean-Luc Ponty, Stanley Clarke, Luciano Pavarotti, Paul Simon, Phil Collins, Santana, Steve Winwood and Herbie Hancock.
Al Di Meola has received the greatest number of awards across various guitar categories from Guitar Player Magazine and other specialist publications. He continually challenges himself and his music, expanding his boundaries and rediscovering himself each time.
She says of her latest album:
“With ‘Opus’, I wanted to expand my compositional abilities, and I think the evolution of that side of me has led people to see me more as a composer than solely as a guitarist. In a way, this album began a new era in my life. For the first time, I was truly happy while writing music. I have a wonderful wife, a wonderful daughter and a fantastic family who inspire me every day. I believe that comes through in my music.”
