Afromental and the X Tour: ten years of the band’s work on a special club tour
Afromental’s X Tour announcement marks ten years of the band’s work with a club tour including Eter. Their story runs from Olsztyn band showcases to “Playing with Pop” and “The B.O.M.B.”, taking in songs such as “Radio Song” and “Rock & Rollin’ Love”.

There are seven of them, and music gets them excited. Fortunately, it excites other people too, and has done for 10 years. Afromental are celebrating a decade together with X TOUR, a special dedicated club tour. One stop is Wrocław's Eter club, where the band will play on 19 November.
Afromental’s history abounds in interesting events, as do the lives of its seven musicians. They began exactly 10 years ago in Olsztyn and quickly conquered Poland’s music scene. First came Gazeta Olsztyńska’s young-band showcase, then Kołobrzeg’s Gama Youth Music Festival, where they performed… VOX’s “Bananowy Song” in reggae style. This unusual appearance secured a place among the festival’s Golden Ten, while mischievousness and catchy music became their trademarks.
Since then, they have released three studio albums, “The Breakthru” (2007), “Playing With Pop” (2009) and “The B.O.M.B”. (2011), and caused quite a stir in the charts by unleashing an explosive mixture of rock, hip-hop and soul on the airwaves. There can hardly be anyone in Poland unfamiliar with “Rock & Rollin' Love” or “Radio Song”. Over time, youth-band showcases gave way to the country’s biggest music events, and their collection of awards, including the most highly prized, began to grow. The band have won a Superjedynka (2009), VIVA COMET (2010), Eska Music Award (2010), MTV European Music Award (2010) and Wow! Music Award (Orange Warsaw Festival, 2010), among others, alongside several Fryderyk nominations.
Recent months have seen Afromental working on another album and preparing X TOUR, an opportunity to celebrate 10 years with fans. Club concerts are planned in Poland’s biggest cities, including Wrocław, where they appear on 19 November at Eter. An energetic, emotional musical journey awaits, featuring familiar favourites alongside first performances of tracks from the forthcoming album. You simply have to see it!
