Slade are glam-rock kings, selling more singles in the 1970s than any other British group, including over a million copies of their biggest hit, “Merry Xmas Everybody”. They have stayed on stage for over half a century, never suspending activity despite line-up changes. Tarja Turunen is among metal and symphonic rock’s best-known artists, renowned for stage charisma and fantastic vocal abilities, with a three-octave soprano.

Therion, meanwhile, defined symphonic metal. Their name means “beast” in Greek, entirely appropriate to anyone who has attended this explosive band’s concerts. Britain’s Napalm Death have set standards for extreme music for 38 years, their uncompromising sound always accompanied by social engagement. Completing the international stars is Alestorm, a group of friends fascinated by pirates who never wanted to compete with the genre’s giants. They preferred to invent their own and have played genuine pirate metal for 15 years.

The festival will also feature the very best Polish performers, representing every musical genre: Kult, Kasia Nosowska, Illusion, Decapitated, Pablopavo i Ludziki, O.S.T.R., Mela Koteluk, Ørganek, Ten Typ Mes, Łąki Łan, Pidżama Porno, Coma, Hunter, Nocny Kochanek, Krzysztof Zalewski, Ania Dąbrowska, Happysad, Ira, Luxtorpeda, Mery Spolsky, The Dumplings, the Albo Inaczej project, Flirtini, Clock Machine, Bitamina, Gooral and Rosalie.

3-Majówka is linked to the Guinness Guitar Record. As every year, stars of the guitar world will support participants in the record attempt, including Amen from Lordi, while musicians from Slade and other guitar stars will also appear on stage. In tribute to Ryszard Riedel, the guitarists gathered in Wrocław will join his son Sebastian to play Dżem’s “W życiu piękne są tylko chwile”.

Taking part in the Guitar Guinness World Record attempt is free. To play in the World’s Largest Guitar Orchestra, all you need is a guitar and knowledge of the five basic chords C/G/D/A/E required to perform Jimi Hendrix’s “Hey Joe”. All types of guitar count towards the Guinness World Record: acoustic, electric, classical and bass, as well as related instruments such as the ukulele, banjo and balalaika. The organisers encourage experienced musicians and beginner guitarists alike to participate, regardless of age.

Attractive discounts on 3-Majówka concerts are available to guitarists who play in the Market Square.
