Wittigalia 2013: Dreadsquad, Trzeci Wymiar, Łąki Łan and Enej on the Wittigowo student campus
Wittigalia 2013 announced three days of student celebrations on Wrocław’s Wittigowo campus. The programme featuring Dreadsquad, Trzeci Wymiar, Łąki Łan and Enej paired concerts with a large barbecue, a parade and the P.I.W.O. project.
For the 13th time, Wrocław students will celebrate Wittigalia, traditionally held in May. This year's organisers have prepared a host of attractions and performances by the best artists, all to make these 3 days an unforgettable experience.
Wednesday traditionally means a great barbecue, when the halls-of-residence grounds become one enormous picnic. Everyone can bring their own barbecue and enjoy a pleasant afternoon with friends before throwing themselves into the fun of live music. Six bands will appear that day, including Dreadsquad, one of Poland’s finest reggae producers, an undisputed number-one musical export performing worldwide. There is also the revelation of 2012, a joint project by musicians from EastWest Rockers, Jamal, Ras Luta, Ocean, Managga and Contra: Mixtura, an energetic blend of reggae, hip-hop and rock.
There will also be Trzeci Wymiar, one of Lower Silesia's leading hip-hop crews, and, for dessert, something for energetic reggae fans. Wrocław's Natural Dread Killaz will take the stage, inviting numerous guests especially for the occasion, including KaceZet, Junior Stres and Milo Mailo.
Thursday brings the annual Juwenalia parade, after which music will once again ring out across Wittigowo. Following a day of reggae and hip-hop, it is time for rock fans. Performers will include Wrocław’s Neony, winners at Jarocin Festival 2010. Shortly afterwards, the stage will turn into a meadow thanks to one of Poland’s most interesting and original bands, Łąki Łan. Their energetic mixture of rock and funk, combined with a huge dose of humour, will get everyone fired up before the evening’s final concert. Wittigalia will close with one of Poland’s most in-demand bands, Enej!
On Friday 10 May, P.I.W.O. returns to the student residence complex for the 7th time, once again surprising everyone who comes. As every year, the team are preparing something new. Exactly what, you will discover soon.
