December 12th at the Student Culture Zone – a perfect space for this type of musical and social endeavor. The industrial atmosphere of the Student Culture Zone will emphasize the concert's character: raw, emotional, and authentic. "TAXI" is a unique collaboration between Łona, a Szczecin rapper and master of words, and Andrzej Konieczny and Kacper Krupa – prominent figures in the improv scene and members of the band Siema Ziemia. Their joint project is a fusion of rap, electronic music, jazz, and experimental sounds, embedded in a concept that transports listeners to the backseat of a nighttime taxi.
"TAXI" is an extraordinary collaboration between Łona, a Szczecin rapper and master of words, and Andrzej Konieczny and Kacper Krupa – prominent figures in the improv scene and members of the band Siema Ziemia. Their joint project is a fusion of rap, electronic music, jazz, and experimental sounds, embedded in a concept that transports listeners to the backseat of a nighttime taxi.
The album "TAXI," the live version of which will be performed live in Wrocław, is a record of the cultural transformation of the last thirty years – seen from the perspective of drivers and passengers. Łona examines social moods with characteristic precision, drawing on authentic stories gathered during a series of conversations with taxi drivers. It's a kind of rap-reportage, in which personal reflection intertwines with the urban rhythm and poetics of the night.
The project was born in 2020 at the OFF Opera festival. It was there that Łona, together with Zuza Głowacka, conducted his first conversations with Poznań taxi drivers. Their stories inspired the creation of a conceptual album, which – after years of development – will be presented in concert this fall and winter.
This is no ordinary concert.
It's a course through three decades of city life – with live music, storytelling, and emotions that can't be confined to a single genre.
