One of the most dazzling figures in contemporary jazz vocalism, a five-time Grammy Award winner, returns to the capital of Lower Silesia. On March 18th, the Student Culture Zone concert hall at 10 Hoene-Wrońskiego Street will host an event of the highest international caliber. At the invitation of the Ethno Jazz Festival, Dianne Reeves will once again captivate Polish audiences with her voice, which has become synonymous with musical excellence and emotional depth.

The artist's previous visit to Wrocław was hailed as one of the most important artistic events of the year. It's no surprise, then, that the organizers decided to invite this icon back. Dianne Reeves is a vocalist of breathtaking virtuosity and a unique gift for improvisation. Her style, a masterful blend of pure jazz with elements of R&B, has earned her a historic achievement: she became the first artist in history to win a Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Performance for three consecutive albums.
Reeves's career has been a string of successes that extend far beyond the global jazz scene. She is best known for her role in George Clooney's acclaimed film "Good Night, and Good Luck," where she not only appeared on screen but also composed the Grammy-winning soundtrack. Her versatility has allowed her to collaborate with some of music's greatest figures—from Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim, to solo performances with Sir Simon Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic. Furthermore, Reeves was the first-ever Creative Director of Jazz for the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Her discography is a collection of musical gems. Her collaboration with legendary producer Arif Mardin (who discovered talents like Norah Jones and Aretha Franklin) resulted in the intimate, Grammy-winning album "A Little Moonlight." Her holiday release, "Christmas Time is Here," was hailed by New York Times critic Ben Ratliff as one of the best Christmas jazz albums ever. Each of her projects demonstrates the extraordinary class and seriousness with which she approaches music.
In recent years, Dianne Reeves has shown no signs of slowing down, performing on the world's most important stages. She participated in the prestigious "Sing the Truth" project, a tribute to Nina Simone, where she performed alongside Lizz Wright and Angelique Kidjo. She has also sung at the White House's state dinners at gala dinners. Her latest album, "Beautiful Life," which featured collaborations with such luminaries as Gregory Porter, Esperanza Spalding, and Robert Glasper, earned her another Grammy in 2015, proving that Reeves continues to set standards in jazz.

Her artistic career is culminated in numerous honorary doctorates from prestigious universities, such as Berklee College of Music and the Juilliard School. In 2018, she received the title of NEA Jazz Master—the highest jazz honor in the United States. The March concert in Wrocław is a rare opportunity to experience this living legend, whose every performance is a celebration of music, warmth, and boundless energy.
