We invite you to Wrocław Zaklęte Rewiry club on May 2nd for a unique concert by British punk rock legends The Exploited. This event is part of the massive European tour "Punks Not Dead – 45 Years Tour 2026," celebrating nearly half a century of uncompromising playing and fidelity to the ideals of the independent scene. The Exploited are undoubtedly the most recognizable band from the second wave of British punk, known as UK 82. The band formed in Edinburgh in 1979 and has been led from the outset by the charismatic, downright demonic vocalist Wattie Buchan. Their music, a raw and aggressive response to the commercialization of the genre's first wave, quickly became the voice of the rebellious working class.

Importantly, the group's history is closely intertwined with Poland – their live album "On Stage" was the first foreign punk music album to be officially released in our country by a state-owned record label, which secured the band the status of an absolutely cult band in Poland.
Their 1981 debut album, "Punks Not Dead," proved to be a true generational manifesto, topping the UK independent charts and selling 150,000 copies in just a few weeks. Such was their success that Wattie and his band were invited to the cult TV show "Top of the Pops," where they performed "Dead Cities," shocking the public with their radical appearance. Subsequent releases, such as "Troops of Tomorrow" (1982), "Let's Start a War" (1983), and "Horror Epics" (1985), only further cemented the group's status. It's worth noting that The Exploited had a huge impact on the global music scene—members of bands such as Metallica, Nirvana, Slayer, and Massive Attack have all admitted to being fascinated by their work.
In the 1990s, the band successfully evolved into crossover thrash, skillfully blending punk energy with heavy metal. This shift resulted in the critically acclaimed albums "The Massacre" (1990), "Beat the Bastards" (1996), and "Fuck the System" (2002), which remain benchmarks for aggressive sound to this day. Despite numerous personnel disruptions, lineup changes, and the band's serious health problems, which included several heart attacks (including one onstage), The Exploited remain an unstoppable touring force. Wattie Buchan, with his distinctive red Mohawk, has become a living pop culture icon, proving that punk rock is not just about music but, above all, about an unwavering attitude to life.
