The Ethno Jazz Festival is proud to invite you to one of the most important artistic events of the upcoming fall. On November 16th, the undisputed star of the world's stages, visionary and violin virtuoso Nigel Kennedy, will perform at the prestigious Wrocław Congress Center . The artist will present his latest, incredibly personal project, "Spiritual Connection," a retrospective journey through the rich world of this brilliant musician's musical inspirations.
The "Spiritual Connection" program is a unique juxtaposition of compositions in which Nigel Kennedy reveals the full spectrum of his artistic sensitivity. During the Wrocław evening, we will hear both the leader's original compositions and masterful interpretations of the works of Johann Sebastian Bach. Kennedy, known for his passion for combining different musical worlds, will also present his own, innovative arrangements of compositions by Krzysztof Komeda and Ryuichi Sakamoto, creating a bridge between classical, jazz, and contemporary film music.
For decades, Nigel Kennedy has been recognized as one of the greatest living violinists, and his name has become synonymous with artistic freedom. As a student of the legendary Yehudi Menuhin and a collaborator with Stéphane Grappelli, Kennedy developed a unique style that seamlessly blurs the boundaries between classical music, jazz, rock, and pop. His uncompromising approach to art has made him a leading ambassador for contemporary trends in the interpenetration of musical styles.
The scale of his success is best demonstrated by numbers and critical acclaim. It was Nigel Kennedy who recorded the best-selling classical music album in history – his interpretation of Antonio Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" sold over 2 million copies, earning him a spot in the Guinness Book of Records. For over 40 years, the artist has performed in the most prestigious venues of international renown, electrifying audiences with his energy and stage charisma.
During the concert in Wrocław, Nigel Kennedy will be accompanied by a band of outstanding instrumentalists, guaranteeing the highest level of performance and extraordinary depth of sound.
