On December 13th, Arkadiusz Jakubik will perform his unique project "Romeo and Juliet Alive" at the Student Culture Zone in Wrocław – an original musical, theatrical, and film performance that defies categorization and engages all the senses. Is it possible to tell, act, and sing a feature film on stage? Jakubik proves it is possible.

"Romeo and Juliet Live" is a combination of play, concert, performance, and film. Simple staging, live music, screenings of original video art by Natan Berkowicz, and direct interaction with the audience make the viewer an active participant in this extraordinary story.
On stage, Arkadiusz Jakubik is accompanied by musicians – not only as instrumentalists, but also as actors embedded in the narrative of the play. The plot is a melodramatic-comedy story of mature love – a tale of Romeo and Juliet in their forties, full of emotion, tension, and unexpected twists. This time with a happy ending. This is a concert performance that primarily captures the imagination. The audience leaves the auditorium not only with emotions but also with their own version of the film – created byin your head.
Arkadiusz Jakubik – a man whose face is familiar to almost anyone even remotely interested in Polish cinema, and whose ears are familiar to every fan of uncompromising rock. Born on January 14, 1969, in Strzelce Opolskie, his artistic path quickly took him far beyond his hometown.
He studied acting in Wrocław, where he graduated from the Acting Department of the local State Drama School (now AST). His early career was connected with the theater – he played at, among others , the Warsaw Operetta and the Rampa Theater. But it wasn't the theater stage that made him recognizable – his breakthrough came from cinema.
Today, Jakubik is one of the most important names in Polish film. Audiences associate him primarily with his powerful, often uncompromising roles in Wojciech Smarzowski's films – from "The Dark House" and "The Wedding" to "Traffic Department" and "Wołyń." For Smarzowski, Jakubik is synonymous with acting truth and intensity. But his talent doesn't end with acting.
He's also a director (his credits include "A Simple Story About Murder" and "The Polish-Russian War" with Borys Szyc), a screenwriter, and, interestingly, a vocalist. And not just any vocalist. For years, he's fronted the punk-rock band Dr Misio, which tours throughout Poland, and his lyrics—often sharp and uncompromising—comment on Polish reality with truly lyrical fury.
Arkadiusz Jakubik is a total artist: painfully honest, committed, and courageous. He doesn't cut corners, he doesn't care about politeness, but about truth. Both in film and on stage.
