BIG DAY

Big Day was formed in July 1992 in Olsztyn. They played their first concert on August 30, 1992, which is considered the band's birth date. In December of that same year, the band recorded their first professional recordings, which served as promotional material for radio stations and record companies. In the spring of 1993, Big Day made their television debut and signed their first publishing contract.

Since its inception, the band's pillars have been Anna Zalewska-Ciurapińska (vocalist) and Marcin Ciurapiński (vocalist, bassist, and music producer). The distinctive harmony of their voices has become the band's unmistakable and recognizable trademark. Big Day creates music described as anthemic rock, combining inspiration from the 1960s tradition with the British guitar scene of the 1990s. Over time, the band has developed its own unique style.

BIOGRAPHY

Big Day is one of the most important and recognizable bands on the Polish rock scene, active continuously since 1992.

The group was formed in July 1992 in Olsztyn and considers its official debut to be its first concert, which took place on August 30 of the same year. Just a few months later, in December 1992, the band recorded its first professional demos, which were used as promotional material for radio stations and record labels. In the spring of 1993, Big Day made its television debut and signed its first record deal, paving the way for a long and successful career.

From the very beginning, the core of the band has been Anna Zalewska-Ciurapińska and Marcin Ciurapiński. Their distinctive vocal harmonies became Big Day’s signature, while the band’s music combines catchy rock inspired by the 1960s with the guitar-driven sound of 1990s British music. Over time, Big Day developed its own unique style, setting it apart within the Polish music landscape.

Throughout its long career, the band has released nine studio albums and two best-of compilations. Among their most popular hits are “W dzień gorącego lata” (“On a Hot Summer Day”) — a staple of Polish radio for over two decades — as well as “Przestrzeń” (“Space”) and the cult cover “Gdy kiedyś znów zawołam Cię” (“When I Call You Again Someday”).

Big Day has toured extensively across Poland, performed at prestigious festivals such as Opole, and collaborated with many leading artists and bands. In 2023, they released their latest, ninth studio album titled “Na koniec gwiazd” (“To the End of the Stars”), which received enthusiastic reviews from both fans and critics.
